Pakistani batter Maaz Sadaqat etched his name into the record books by scoring a brilliant century during the final of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL), though his remarkable knock ultimately went in vain.
Representing the Jamaica Kingsmen against the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons, Maaz unleashed a sensational 114-run innings off just 58 deliveries, featuring 8 boundaries and 9 towering sixes. With this performance, he became the first Pakistani player to score a century in the final of a franchise T20 tournament, as well as the first batter to achieve the milestone in a CPL final.
Previously, during the eliminator match, Maaz had already claimed the title of the youngest centurion in CPL history by hitting 112 runs off 49 balls. Powered by his century, the Jamaica Kingsmen posted a total of 170 runs; however, the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons successfully chased down the target with 20 balls to spare and only two wickets down.
Throughout CPL 2026, Maaz accumulated 363 runs across seven matches at an impressive batting average of 60.50 and a strike rate of 174.52. His 114-run masterclass in the final also secured him the record for the highest individual score in a CPL final, surpassing Lendl Simmons and Brendon King. Combined across the Pakistan Super League (PSL) and CPL this year, Maaz’s overall run tally has reached 653, including two centuries and two half-centuries.
