The son of Israel’s ambassador to the United States has sustained serious injuries following a car-ramming attack carried out by a Palestinian individual in the occupied West Bank. Confirming the incident on social media, Ambassador Yechiel Leiter stated that his son is in critical condition and in need of a miracle.
This tragedy comes after the ambassador previously lost his eldest son, Yedidya Leiter—a former member of the Israeli military—who was killed in Gaza following the events of October 7. According to military and law enforcement officials, the latest incident unfolded on a Wednesday afternoon near the Beit Horon settlement when a vehicle was driven into a security checkpoint, severely injuring a soldier. Security forces subsequently opened fire on the driver, identified by the Palestinian Ministry of Health as Mahmoud Suleiman, as he attempted to flee the scene.
