Meta-owned messaging platform WhatsApp has begun testing a new feature for Android users, allowing them to view small thumbnail previews of photos, videos, and stickers directly within the chat list without opening the conversation.
According to reports from WABetaInfo, the update was spotted in Android beta version 2.26.32.11. Currently, when a recent message contains visual media, WhatsApp displays a generic text label such as “Photo” or “Video.” Under the new interface enhancement, a small preview thumbnail will appear alongside the media label in the main chat inbox.
This visual upgrade enables users to quickly identify the nature and content of recent media exchanges without needing to launch individual chats. The media preview feature is currently limited to Android beta testers, with a broader rollout for stable version users expected in upcoming updates.
