The business community of Faisalabad has formally demanded the creation of a new province comprising the Faisalabad Division, asserting that fundamental administrative restructuring is essential to unlock economic growth and address long-standing local governance issues.
At a joint press conference, commercial leaders highlighted that while political faces and governments have repeatedly changed over decades, local civic, administrative, and economic challenges have remained unresolved. Welcoming discussions regarding potential administrative reforms for the Federal Capital Territory, trade representatives urged the federal government to grant provincial status to Faisalabad Division prior to executing any new administrative frameworks in Islamabad.
Trade bodies emphasized that decentralizing power and placing administrative authority closer to citizens is crucial for efficient governance and economic progress. Representatives noted that elevating Faisalabad Division to a separate province would ensure proportionate representation, faster resolution of civic issues, and a revitalized industrial ecosystem for the country’s textile hub.
