A 12-year-old boy, identified as Abdul Raqeeb, lost his life in an accidental shooting inside a parked vehicle at a residential apartment complex in Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Block 16.
CCTV footage of the incident shows three children boarding a parked car before the victim, a sixth-grade student and the youngest of four siblings, approached on a bicycle and joined them. The children reportedly started the vehicle and attempted to operate it when a firearm inside the car inadvertently discharged, striking Abdul Raqeeb. According to initial reports, the firearm was allegedly handled accidentally by a child named Ahmed.
Following the gunshot, the children fled the scene in panic before briefly returning to inspect the vehicle and fleeing again. Local police reviewed the surveillance footage, but the victim’s family has temporarily declined to initiate legal proceedings or register a formal police complaint regarding the incident.
