Speaking during an interview at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) in Canada, Mahira reflected on how her life had settled into a predictable rhythm with her growing son, career, and travels, making this unexpected chapter a significant life shift. “We make our own plans, but Allah’s planning is always the best,” she noted, adding that the experience has taught her to embrace life rather than trying to control everything. Comparing her current experience to when she first became a mother at 24, she acknowledged that pregnancy in her 40s has been physically more demanding, leaving days when she cannot accomplish as much as her mind desires.
