Forget Laser Treatments, Adopt These Home Remedies for Unwanted Facial Hair.

Must read

Unwanted facial hair is a common cosmetic issue for women, and many use various methods ranging from threading to expensive laser treatments to remove them. However, certain home remedies are also used for this purpose, although their results may not be uniform for every individual. One of the causes of excess facial hair can be a hormonal imbalance, while certain specific medications, including steroids, can also cause abnormal hair growth. If hair begins to grow suddenly or abnormally, it is more appropriate to seek medical advice rather than relying solely on home remedies.

Sugar and Lemon Mixture Traditional home remedies also include a mixture of sugar and lemon. To prepare it, a mixture of half a cup of water, two teaspoons of sugar, and a few drops of lemon is boiled. After cooling, it is recommended to apply it to the affected area for approximately 20 to 25 minutes and then wash it off with cold water. A mixture of lemon and honey is also used for this purpose. In this method, one teaspoon of honey, two tablespoons of sugar, and a few drops of lemon are heated for about five minutes. After letting the mixture cool slightly, it is suggested to use it on the face like wax. Lemon can cause skin irritation, so caution is necessary on sensitive skin before using it.

Egg White, Sugar, and Flour Another remedy incorporates egg white, sugar, and rice flour. For this, two spoons of egg white, one tablespoon of sugar, and half a teaspoon of rice flour are mixed well. After applying the mixture to the affected areas of the face, it is allowed to dry for 20 to 30 minutes and then washed off with cold water.

Oatmeal and Banana Mixture A mixture of oatmeal and banana is also described as a traditional home remedy for unwanted facial hair. In this, one banana is thoroughly mashed and mixed with two tablespoons of oatmeal. The method involves applying the mixture to the face in a circular motion, massaging gently for about 15 minutes, and subsequently washing it off with cold water.

Papaya and Turmeric Mixture A papaya and turmeric mixture is also included in this list. For this, mashed ripe papaya is mixed with a pinch of ground turmeric, after which the face is massaged with the mixture for 15 to 20 minutes and then washed with water. The ‘papain’ enzyme present in papaya is believed to potentially affect hair follicles, though it should not be considered a proven permanent method to stop hair growth.
