The International Cricket Council (ICC) has officially announced the winners of the Player of the Month awards for August.
In the men’s category, rising Sri Lankan batsman Sonal Dinusha clinched the Men’s Player of the Month award following a phenomenal run of form. He delivered an exceptional performance against India in the Test series, scoring three brilliant centuries across two matches. While England’s Ollie Robinson and Bangladesh’s Hasan Mahmud were also shortlisted for the honor, Dinusha secured the award for the very first time.
In the women’s category, Isle of Man captain Lucy Barnett won the Women’s Player of the Month award, making history as the first-ever player from the Isle of Man to receive an ICC monthly accolade. Her stellar all-round performance in the Women’s Continental Cup T20 tournament yielded 257 runs and 4 wickets. She triumphed over fellow nominees Nattaya Boochatham and Chanida Sutthiruang (or Thailand’s Sornnarin Tippoch and Nannapat Koncharoenkai) to claim the title.
