Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has firmly dismissed rumors regarding his resignation, clarifying that he will remain in office and continue performing his duties as president. Speaking in an interview with Iranian state television to mark two years of his government, Pezeshkian labeled reports of internal divisions as baseless fabrications.
President Pezeshkian explicitly denied rumors of friction between the government and Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei, asserting that full coordination and unity exist among the government, the leadership, and the country’s armed forces. He stated that if he ever decided to step down, he would make the announcement himself, but affirmed he has no intention of doing so.
Addressing the media, Pezeshkian emphasized that certain elements are deliberately attempting to foster a false perception of conflict within the Iranian state apparatus, whereas all institutions remain aligned in protecting national interests.
The statement reinforces earlier clarifications by Mehdi Tabatabaei, the Deputy Information Officer to the Iranian President, who accused political extremists of spreading rumors to undermine national unity and benefit external adversaries. Political analysts note that Pezeshkian’s statement aims to project internal stability and continuity amid ongoing regional shifts and international scrutiny.
