The All Pakistan Petrol Pump Owners Association has officially backed the nationwide indefinite strike launched by goods transporters, severely heightening potential supply chain disruptions across the country.
Expressing solidarity with the transporters, Noman Ali Butt, Vice Chairman of the Petrol Pump Owners Association, stated that the demand of the All Pakistan Goods Transport Association reflects the concerns of the general public. Butt strongly rejected the policy of daily fluctuations in fuel prices, labeling the mechanism unacceptable for fuel station operators and business owners alike.
The development follows the collapse of negotiations between transport representatives and government officials. According to Malik Shahzad Awan, President of the All Pakistan Goods Transport Alliance, talks held on Friday with both federal and Sindh provincial authorities yielded no results. Awan accused authorities of lacking seriousness, confirming that the nationwide strike commencing Saturday, August 8, will continue indefinitely until their grievances are addressed.
