The federal government has issued an official notification adjusting the retail prices of petroleum products across the country, featuring a slight reduction in petrol rates alongside a minor price increase for high-speed diesel, effective August 12, 2026.
According to the official notification, the price of petrol has been reduced by PKR 1.70 per liter, bringing the new retail price to PKR 325.92 per liter from its previous mark of PKR 327.62. Conversely, high-speed diesel saw a price hike of PKR 1.39 per liter, setting its new retail rate at PKR 382.25 per liter compared to the prior level of PKR 380.86.
The revised pricing structure comes into force immediately for August 12, 2026. Financial analysts note that the marginal price adjustments reflect recent shifts in global oil market benchmarks and exchange rate dynamics.
