Former Federal Minister Fawad Chaudhry took a satirical swipe at the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) following the national team’s dismal performance against England on Day 2 of the Lord’s Test. Commenting on the team’s struggling position on social media platform X, Chaudhry advised the PCB to focus on “saving face” rather than trying to save a match that appears lost.
In his post, Chaudhry humorously outlined two dramatic exit strategies for the PCB: either forfeit the match by claiming the board is boycotting over the recent Sky Sports controversy, or have captain Babar Azam refuse to play by citing mental pressure stemming from the treatment of former captain Imran Khan following Sky Sports’ interview with Khan’s sons.
The political commentary comes as Pakistan’s batting lineup collapsed for just 110 runs in their first innings. By the close of play on Day 2, England had built an overall lead of 261 runs, finishing their second innings at 81 for 3 after starting with a 180-run first-innings advantage. Meanwhile, the PCB has formally lodged a complaint against Sky Sports for airing the interview with Qasim and Suleman Khan during the match coverage.
