Sensational revelations have emerged regarding the abrupt removal of Sarfaraz Ahmed from his role as the head coach of the national Test team, pointing to severe internal disagreements over player selection.
According to sports journalist Abdul Majid Bhatti, a message was sent to Sarfaraz Ahmed on behalf of selector Aaqib Javed instructing him to field Ubaid Shah or Aamir Jamal in the lineup for the Lord’s Test match while dropping Mohammad Rizwan to hand Ghazi Ghouri his debut. When Sarfaraz discussed the proposed selection changes with captain Babar Azam, the skipper firmly rejected the directive, insisting on playing Mohammad Rizwan and Khurram Shahzad instead.
Bhatti reported that Babar’s refusal triggered significant friction between the management and selection authorities, ultimately leading to Sarfaraz Ahmed’s unexpected dismissal following the conclusion of the Lord’s Test.
