US President Donald Trump telephoned Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to strongly urge him to halt drone strikes targeting Russian oil refineries.
According to American media reports, Trump maintained that these assaults on Russian refining infrastructure are putting upward pressure on diesel prices worldwide. The US president has previously pressed Zelenskyy to avoid striking Russian fuel installations. Meanwhile, the issue of targeting energy infrastructure between Russia and Ukraine has gained heightened significance in recent days, with the refinery strikes increasing strain on global fuel supply chains and market costs.
On the other hand, Zelenskyy announced that he will meet with President Trump in New York on the sidelines of the upcoming United Nations General Assembly.
