Qatar has announced that diplomatic engagements and discussions regarding various proposals have been ongoing for the past two weeks to restart negotiations between the United States and Iran. Meanwhile, Pakistan is also participating in mediation efforts between the two nations.
According to Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Majid Al-Ansari, Qatar’s mediation team is in communication with both Tehran and Washington, reviewing possibilities for reviving the talks. He stated that mediators are traveling between various capitals to achieve progress on the matter.
Al-Ansari revealed that Qatar has also received assurances from US administration officials that Washington intends to reach a formal agreement. He further warned that a single state asserting dominance over a vital water passage to use it as a weapon could establish a hazardous precedent for everyone.
