Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with top European Union leadership to discuss strengthening broad-based partnerships, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to the full implementation of the Pakistan-EU Strategic Engagement Plan. He stressed that continuous high-level contacts play a crucial role in providing direction and momentum to bilateral relations.
Highlighting the significance of the GSP Plus framework for Pakistan’s economic growth, job creation, and trade ties with the EU, the Prime Minister reiterated Pakistan’s resolve to continue close cooperation under this system. The discussions also covered regional and global developments, with both sides emphasizing that diplomacy, dialogue, international law, and peaceful methods must remain central to resolving conflicts. Furthermore, the Prime Minister extended a renewed invitation to the Presidents of the European Council and the European Commission to visit Pakistan, expressing a desire for continued close collaboration to deepen mutually beneficial ties.
