Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Pakistan Emir Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman has strongly urged the government to immediately release all political prisoners to restore political stability and normalize conditions across the country.
Addressing a press conference at Idara Noor-e-Haq in Karachi, Hafiz Naeem emphasized that the detention of female political prisoners is completely unacceptable and called for their immediate release alongside all political leaders imprisoned since the May 9 events. He specifically noted that there is no justification for the continued incarceration of key political figures, including Dr. Yasmin Rashid, Ejaz Chaudhry, Shah Mahmood Qureshi, and Mahmood-ur-Rasheed.
The JI chief pointed out that several detained leaders are suffering from deteriorating health and urged the government to proactively address the issue rather than entangling the nation in futile political friction. He highlighted that perpetual political confrontation distracts from the public’s core socioeconomic challenges, stressing that Jamaat-e-Islami’s stance extends beyond specific party demands to advocate for justice and the release of all political detainees.
