The Anti-Corruption Circle of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) executed a red-handed raid at the Harbanspura Passport Office in Lahore, arresting four individuals, including Passport Office Superintendent Abdul Ghaffar.
The apprehended suspects include Superintendent Abdul Ghaffar, former contract employee Ansar, security guard Zubair Ashfaq, and agent Mubashir Mahmood. According to FIA officials, the network was actively defrauding citizens by collecting illegal fees under the pretext of facilitating expedited and unauthorized passport processing.
An official case has been registered against the suspects, and further investigations are currently underway to identify additional members of the network. The operation follows recent stern directives from Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, who recently made a surprise inspection at the Garden Town Passport Office in Lahore and suspended key officials over alleged collusion with passport agents.
