A 35-year-old father of three tragically committed suicide on Tuesday evening by shooting himself in the head at his residence located in Yousuf Goth near the Hamdard Canal in Manghopir’s Band Murad area.
According to local police, the victim, identified as Rashad Ali Khan, son of Natha Khan, sustained critical injuries from the gunshot wound. He was initially rushed to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital in grave condition; however, due to a lack of specialized medical facilities at Abbasi Shaheed, he was subsequently transferred to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC), where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment around 5:00 AM on Wednesday.
Police investigation revealed that the deceased was struggling with drug addiction and had been arrested last year on charges of motorcycle theft before subsequently securing bail from court. Following the completion of mandatory legal and medico-legal formalities at Jinnah Hospital, police handed over the body to the bereaved family.
