Iran and Oman are currently engaged in bilateral negotiations to refine maritime traffic protocols and create a unified transit corridor through the strategic Strait of Hormuz, aiming to improve safety and regional maritime navigation.
According to Iranian state news agency IRNA, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei revealed during a weekly news briefing in Tehran that the primary objective of the talks is to replace the current separate northern and southern routes with a consolidated, joint central shipping channel.
