A session court in Lahore heard the interim bail applications of PML-N MPA Saqib Chadhar and his wife, Sumaira, in connection with the harassment and intimidation case filed by actress Momina Iqbal.
During the proceedings presided over by Additional Sessions Judge Nusrat Siddiqui, the investigating officer informed the court that the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) had formed a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) following a transfer of the probe. The officer stated that the JIT found both Saqib Chadhar and his wife innocent after due investigation, confirming that their arrest was no longer required. Consequently, the accused couple withdrew their interim bail applications.
However, counsel for Momina Iqbal, Adnan Ehsan Advocate, raised objections before the court, questioning how the new investigating officer cleared the accused without conducting a comprehensive investigation. The case had originally been registered by the NCCIA over allegations of harassment and threats made against the actress.
