Pyongyang recently carried out successive missile tests, launching two short-range ballistic missiles within roughly a three-hour window.
According to foreign media reports, the South Korean military stated that the initial projectile was fired Sunday afternoon from the Wonsan region toward the Sea of Japan, covering a trajectory of approximately 450 kilometers. South Korea noted that a second short-range ballistic missile followed about three hours after the first launch. Japanese authorities similarly confirmed the initial test involved a ballistic missile.
Japanese broadcaster NHK reported that the missile landed outside the country’s exclusive economic zone. In response to the tests, South Korea’s National Security Council strongly condemned the actions and urged Pyongyang to immediately halt its missile activities.
