Two commercial vessels were struck by unidentified projectiles approximately four nautical miles west of Khasab, Oman, causing a fire aboard one of the ships.

According to the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO), four unidentified projectiles hit the two vessels in quick succession. A captain of a nearby ship confirmed witnessing the attack from roughly six nautical miles away. Local and international maritime authorities have not yet assigned responsibility for the assault or specified the nature of the projectiles, though formal investigations are underway.

The incident highlights growing security vulnerabilities in the Strait of Hormuz and the Gulf of Oman, where a series of recent attacks on commercial shipping vessels has heightened global concerns over maritime safety and international energy supply routes.
