The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to issue No Objection Certificates (NOCs) to national cricketers participating in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) only after the conclusion of the domestic National Champions Cup.
A total of eight Pakistani players were selected by various franchises for this year’s CPL edition, including Saim Ayub, Shadab Khan, Naseem Shah, Usman Khan, Maaz Sadaqat, Sufiyan Muqeem, Hunain Shah, and Usman Tariq. Six of these players form a core part of the fixed playing XIs for their respective domestic teams in the National Champions Cup, while Hunain Shah and Usman Tariq are not featured in the domestic tournament.
The 50-over List-A National Champions Cup, featuring seven matches in Multan from August 11 to 18, directly conflicts with the initial phase of the CPL. Consequently, sources confirm that the PCB will begin issuing NOCs starting August 19. The domestic competition is viewed as a vital stepping stone for assessing talent and preparing for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2027.
