The first-ever Deaf Children Excellence and Research Center has been established in Quetta for special children who are hearing-impaired.
The center, set up through the mutual cooperation of the federal and provincial governments, was formally inaugurated by Federal Minister for Culture Aurangzeb. Approximately 350 hearing-impaired boys and girls are currently enrolled at the Deaf Children Excellence and Research Center, where they are being provided with primary to secondary education alongside modern technical training.
To make hearing-impaired girls self-sufficient, training in sewing and embroidery is also being imparted alongside regular education. The establishment of this unique institution in Balochistan marks a significant milestone toward the education, skill development, and welfare of special children.
