In a major joint international operation against Afghan narcotics trafficking, Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) Pakistan, in coordination with Sri Lankan authorities and the US Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), seized 671 kilograms of methamphetamine (Ice) and arrested six syndicate members across Karachi and Colombo ports.
The operation commenced in July 2026 when ANF intercepted a container at Karachi Port, confiscating 200 kilograms of methamphetamine and arresting two key operatives, including the syndicate’s Afghan ringleader, Ihsanullah. Information extracted during interrogations enabled ANF to alert Sri Lankan law enforcement and the DEA regarding connected shipments. Acting on this actionable intelligence, Sri Lankan authorities executed a joint raid at Colombo Port, seizing 471 kilograms of Ice from two containers and apprehending six additional network members.
The successful joint action thwarted the transit of Afghan-origin narcotics through Pakistani maritime routes to international markets, drawing official commendation from Sri Lankan authorities and the US DEA for ANF’s intelligence-led strategy.
