Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Naib Emir Liaquat Baloch has stated that the political influence of the Zardari and Sharif families is declining across the country, asserting that Jamaat-e-Islami has emerged as the premier choice for distressed citizens.
In a statement issued in Lahore, Baloch called on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to initiate talks with JI Emir Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman without wasting any time immediately upon his return to the country. He further demanded that the government immediately abolish the petroleum levy tax to provide tangible financial relief to the public.
Warning the administration, Baloch stated that if the government continues its delaying tactics, it will trigger not only a super long march but also a nationwide movement aimed at toppling the government. He added that the country is currently gripped by a severe crisis driven fundamentally by systemic failure.
