: Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry has warned that it will become clear on September 27 how the state enforces its writ.
Speaking in a private TV program, he cautioned that the state possesses the full authority to take all necessary measures to establish its writ during PTI’s proposed Islamabad march. Chaudhry made it clear that the government does not want to be forced into adopting harsh measures or a heavy-handed approach if PTI attempts to enter Islamabad again.
Criticizing the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provincial government, he stated that the Chief Minister avoids attending the Prime Minister’s quarterly meetings regarding counter-terrorism, but immediately remembers the federal government when it comes to increasing their share in the NFC Award and acquiring funds.
He further revealed that the PTI government has so far been provided with PKR 700 billion under the NFC, and providing a complete account of these funds is their responsibility. He advised the provincial government to focus on the proper utilization of these funds and their performance rather than engaging in political sit-ins and marches.
