Leading global technology companies—including OpenAI, Anthropic, Microsoft, Alphabet, and Amazon—have issued a joint appeal calling for an immediate acceleration of society-wide cyber defense capabilities to thwart an impending wave of AI-powered cyberattacks. Signed by over 100 major corporations including Broadcom, CrowdStrike, IBM, MasterCard, Oracle, and Visa, the joint statement stresses that time is rapidly running out to secure the digital world against increasingly sophisticated artificial intelligence threats.
The joint letter warns that AI-driven cyber intrusions will become significantly more frequent in the coming months as global large language models (LLMs) grow in capability. Malicious actors are already utilizing advanced AI models to infiltrate networks worldwide. In response, tech leaders urged governments and industry heads to pool technology, resources, and expertise, while calling on states to accelerate trusted access programs that allow vetted security firms to evaluate powerful AI models prior to public release.
This warning comes amid growing scrutiny over budget and personnel cuts at the U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) under President Donald Trump’s administration. The appeal builds on a joint warning issued by the “Five Eyes” intelligence alliance (comprising the US, UK, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand), which cautioned that the rapid AI revolution is fundamentally redefining the global cybersecurity landscape.
