The captain of the Uganda national football team, 27-year-old David Owori, has tragically passed away following a violent robbery attack near his residence in Makindye, a suburb of the capital city Kampala.
According to local police reports, assailants targeted Owori near his home in an attempt to snatch his mobile phone and other valuable personal belongings. When Owori resisted the robbery, the attackers subjected him to extreme violence. Eye witnesses reported that the perpetrators struck Owori with stones, leaving him unconscious at the scene before fleeing.
