In a tragic incident of family dispute, a serving Special Branch police constable allegedly shot dead his own brother—who was also a police constable—and injured two relatives in Quetta’s Eastern Bypass area.
The attack occurred in Baloch Khan Colony within the jurisdiction of Khaliq Shaheed Police Station. The suspect, identified as Constable Rehmat, opened fire on his brother, Constable Kifayatullah, killing him instantly. His nephew Daulat and cousin Altaf were wounded in the gunfire.
Senior police officials, including DSP Sariab Division Talib Hussain, inspected the crime scene. Emergency responders shifted the casualties to Civil Hospital for post-mortem and medical treatment.
Police stated that suspect Rehmat fled the area immediately after the incident. A formal investigation has been launched, and raids are being conducted to arrest the fleeing constable.
