pakistani actress Momina Iqbal has broken her silence on her ongoing controversy with Punjab Assembly Member Saqib Chadhad, leveling serious allegations of harassment, blackmail, and intimidation against him.
In a recent interview with journalist Arshad Bhatti, Momina claimed that she was allegedly threatened with the release of her private photos and other personal material on social media, plunging her into severe distress and fear for her reputation and personal life. She recounted that when Chadhad initially brought a marriage proposal to her home, her father asked for some time before giving an affirmative response. However, a few months later, messages from Chadhad’s first wife began arriving, revealing to her that he was already married.
The actress alleged that Chadhad had expected this pressure and controversy would cause her fiancé, Hamza, to abandon her; however, Hamza stood by her through the difficult ordeal. During the interview, Momina reportedly presented chat records and other documentary evidence to challenge Chadhad’s prior claims regarding their relationship and communication timeline.
Momina also firmly dismissed the notion that her primary objective was to extract money from Saqib Chadhad, stating that she sought public exposure of the truth rather than a financial settlement, though both parties hold differing stances on financial matters.
Meanwhile, legal proceedings are actively underway. On September 3, following the emergence of new digital evidence, the NCCIA issued fresh notices to both Momina Iqbal and Saqib Chadhad, establishing a special investigation team to review the previous probe records alongside the newly submitted material. The team has been given a one-month deadline to finalize its findings and submit a report to the agency’s Director General.
