Secretary of Iran’s National Security Council, Mohsen Rezaei, has categorically stated that Tehran will not engage in any talks with the United States until all of Iran’s preconditions are fully satisfied, while warning against being misled by conflicting statements from Washington.
Addressing recent political rhetoric, Rezaei noted that U.S. President Donald Trump frequently issues contradictory statements—alternating between refusing dialogue and expressing readiness to negotiate—and emphasized that international observers should focus on Iran’s official stance rather than Washington’s shifting positions.
Rezaei further stressed that regional dynamics concerning oil supplies and the strategic Strait of Hormuz have fundamentally shifted, warning that current efforts to contain ongoing damages will not prevent future crises unless core grievances are addressed. The remarks come amid heightened diplomatic maneuvering regarding maritime transit in the Persian Gulf and broader bilateral tensions.
